Last night I was able to read some of my book to the kids, so I have already got a leg up on todays tasks. Today is also my day off! yay! My first since getting back.
While doing my Bible study today I came across something that really struck home. I was reading about convictions, and the one I am on, is "The Bible is the inspired word of God and the final authority for my life.". The first thing I came across is this, "This conviction means that the Bible is God's message to man, Not man's message about God." I think I have always subconsciously had the idea or understanding that the Bible was a message about God. And it is, but to stop there is to only get half the message. Because the Bible is also Gods message to man. Wow. I think this could have a big impact on how I understand and read the Bible.
This conviction also means,
That every writer of the Bible wrote without any errors.
That God was not limited by the knowledge of the writers of the Bible.
That the Holy Spirit teaches me to understand the interpretation of Gods Word and its
application to daily living.
That my ability to understand the Bible is not determined by my intellectual skills, but but by
my relationship to the Holy Spirit.
That the Bible must be my final authority for daily decisions.
That the words of the Bible are Life-giving expressions of Gods wisdom and character.
That the words of the Bible can be used to conquer he power of Satan.
