Mobile Ministry Team

I know I haven't posted on here in a while, and I really should have, but I've been journaling a lot instead. However, while on this trip I think it would serve me better to do a little of both. So, from here on out for the next 3 weeks I will be trying to do one post a day on this blog. 

It is now day 5 of the trip and we are in Memphis TN. I will do my best to fill you in as to what has happened up to this point. 

We left ALERT on Saturday morning and arrived safely at the Wills house in Memphis TN just in time for Dinner. After a big meal, and a lot of catching up, we sat down to a long game of Settlers of Catan, which we didn't finish that night. Sunday morning found us at two different churches, Elijah and I went to the church the Wills church, Evangel, and Jonathan, Seth, and Brenden went to the Stoners Church, River Oaks. 

Monday we went out and started working on homes that the Stoners had found for us; widows and elderly people who needed help. We were able to go to 4 homes and did mostly raking and at one house we washed the house. 

Tuesday we were able to help 3 people and visit a fourth that will provide future work for ALERT and who would like to donate to ALERT. That house will be a lot of tree work. Also Tuesday night we hosted an advertising event at the Stoners home. The turn out for the event was fantastic! There were many people there who were enthusiastic about learning about ALERT. And I had a particularly great time telling the story of the Yellow Egg and the PinkMonkey! 

On Wednesday, today, we are going to schools and visiting the college councilors and presenting ALERT and the different summer camps we offer that their student might be interested in, or could benefit from.
