Today I'm in a Bible class. We are studying 2 Timothy 2. I will be writing on this passage and what we discussed.
There are two parts to the Christian life. There are more, but Im focussing on two. The intellectual side and the application side. The intellectual side can be compared to what the Bible says is wisdom. It's knowing in your head what is required. The intellectual side can be compared to what the Bible says is Understanding. Understand is the process of taking the head knowledge, intellectual, and apply it to your life. And our war in this application is against our way and Gods way. In Numbers it talks about tassels. It says they were supposed to put them on every corner; north, east, south, west. These were designed so that no matter what direction we are going we have something that will catch our eyes and remind us who we are to follow. Remember, Gods way, not ours.
There is a poem called "The charge of the light brigade", that says "theirs not to reason why, theirs but to do or die."
I'm also reading a daily devotional that happens to be talking about prayer today. One of the most common problems people have with prayer is perseverance. Persisting in prayer until ether the prayer is answered or you are sure in your heart that God will answer it.
