Day 1

The first post of my challenge will be on Titus 2. This is a passage I had memorized at ALERT. I like it a lot because in it it describes what a man do, or how he should live. The Bible as a whole speaks to how we are to live our lives, but in Titus it lists some things in specific. The very first thing it starts off with, is "Teach sound doctrine". And how can you teach "Sound doctrine" of the Bible if you don't study the Bible. So from the first few words alone we can conclude, that a man according to the Bibles standards will be in the Word daily. And I think we could even take it a step further, to study the Word daily. Studying. Learning. Who is God, and who am I in him?
This is also one of my biggest struggles; Staying in/on a consistent Bible study.

In verse 2, it talks about "older" men. What does it mean by "older"? Is it talking about gray headed men? Married men? One year? Ten years? Im not sure, but i'm going to try and figure it out. Until then I'm going to approach it from an angle that will work for any of those.

If you are going to participate in a race you don't just lay around and show up to the race unprepared. No, you spend hours each day preparing, and practicing to perform to the best of your ability. It's the preparation I want to point out. In the same way you prepare for a race you should also prepare for life. If you don't start preparing you are never going to get there. The question then, is when. When do you start preparing? The culture today says you don't prepare until your 18. Which also according to the culture you are a man when you turn 18. that means it must happen instantaneously. no work involved until after you become a man. I see this problem every day here at the school. The kids don't even want to take responsibility for their choices, much less their life. and try to show them the truth when everything and everyone around them are telling them lies disguised as truth, it becomes almost impossible.

On another note, Today was a good 1st day of the challenge. I met all my goals. Barely, but I did meet them. tomorrow will be much harder. Tomorrow is the first day back to school.

And that will conclude the first post of the first day. 30 More to go.
